Chase SC is an RYA approved training centre, and all of our courses are delivered by enthusiastic, experienced Instructors. Our aim is to offer a Start Sailing experience incorporating the RYA National sailing scheme levels 1 and 2 which are taught over 2 weekends. Learn to sail in our comfortable and stable teaching boats, our Omega and Wayfarers are very reassuring and a pleasure to sail. Once you have achieved levels 1 and 2 and have joined the club, you can hire one of our dedicated club hire boats The Magno 2-3 person boat, is great fun with an easy to handle Asymmetric Spinnaker or a Pico 1-2 person boat, the perfect dinghy in which to start sailing solo.
Chase recognises the importance of Post course support for new sailors, and to help you increase your confidence and build knowledge, we run a range of workshops and clinics. We have an appointed Club Mentor who will be introduced to you at the end of a course and who answer questions and listen to your concerns, ensuring that you can Go Sailing on regular basis.
Want to try racing? Join one of our Start Racing Clinics and take part in races designed for new racing sailors. Our junior members will also be participating and the emphasis is on taking part and having fun. Once you’re feeling more confident and understand how to get around the race course then Go Racing and make sailing part of your regular weekend or week day evening activity. Races take place on Wednesday and Friday evenings (April to September) and every Saturday. Check the club notice board for details.

Youth Sailing @ Chasewater is a fun and friendly way for young people (aged 10 to 18 or whilst in full time education) to learn to sail. YS@C offer a full training programme run by RYA qualified instructors, which offers progression from absolute beginners to Dinghy Instructor (16+). The emphasis is on having fun, making friends and learning through active participation. Young people follow the RYA Youth Sailing Programme and the YS@C pathway, which includes junior racing, club sailing and training opportunities.
We operate on Saturday mornings (9.30 - 1.00) from Easter to mid-October. Our fleet of boats include Toppers, Picos and Lasers for solo sailors and our crewed boats include RS Fevas and Wayfarers. YS@C encourages parental involvement, all Instructors and Officers are volunteers and you’ll be made very welcome. Whether helping with boat rigging, making drinks or learning to drive a safety boat there is a role for you! Please speak to any Instructor and get involved with YS@C.

All Chase SC club members benefit from a subsidised RYA Power Boat level 2 or RYA Safety Boat course. Learn the skills required to safely handle a RIB or Jenneau in a range of situations.
